Mike McDonald’s Path to Faith RXD

by Chad Bonham

SportsLife Leadership announces the addition of Mike McDonald as the Executive Director of Faith RXD, a SportsLife ministry to the CrossFit community. McDonald joined the team in January 2026, bringing over 30 years of leadership experience in both business and ministry.

Originally from Windsor, Connecticut, McDonald earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Connecticut. He advanced from an entry-level position to senior leadership in the security services field, ultimately becoming President & CEO of Paramount Security, Inc. There, he led major restructurings, negotiated national contracts, and grew operations from a single Florida office to a coast-to-coast and international presence.

“I love building teams. Being part of a group that comes together for a common mission gives me purpose, especially when it’s within God’s Kingdom.” – Mike McDonald

In 2014, McDonald experienced what he described as a “miraculous encounter” that led him to the Lord and set him on a path toward vocational ministry. By 2016, he was involved in CrossFit and launched a Faith RXD chapter in Connecticut. While continuing his business career, he completed a seminary program at Liberty University, earning his Master of Divinity in 2018, and he became a campus pastor at Vox Church.

After relocating to St. Augustine, Florida, in 2021, he served as operations pastor at Colonial Church before becoming Chief Operating Officer for Integrity Rise Management LLC, overseeing a multifamily management company with $2 billion in assets.

Planning to start another CrossFit ministry in Florida, McDonald was introduced to SportsLife Leadership through a mutual friend of Mark Stephens, Executive Director of Leadership Coaching. This led to a meeting with Chief Sport Officer Carl Perry, who was seeking to hire a SportsLife Executive Director to minister to the CrossFit community.

“When we met Mike, we knew we’d hit a home run. I praise the Lord for connecting us with Mike and his talents. He’s going to help us advance the ministry and involve more people in our Bible studies, known as LifeGroups.” – Carl Perry

Faith RXD currently has about 30 LifeGroups, including six in England. The long-term goal is clear—to achieve spiritual growth within the CrossFit community.

“One year from now, we aim to have more LifeGroups, which means more leaders stepping up,” Perry said. “That’s the target. We want to increase the number of local ministry leaders in CrossFit gyms worldwide.”

“This is actual impact,” McDonald added. “I’ll work with these leaders, helping to disciple and mentor them as they carry out their mission on the ground.”
